Square meal: food and drink festival comes to Nottingham
If your culinary repertoire starts and ends with spag bol, get yourself down to Old Market Square in Nottingham, where celebrity chefs will be cooking up a storm as part of the Nottingham Food and Drink Festival 2010 (23-26 September).
Following its successful debut last year, the Nottingham Food and Drink Festival 2010 returns to satisfy would-be gourmets once again with a bumper programme of events.
TV stars and Michelin stars flock to Nottingham
Italian chef and I’m A Celebrity… winner, Gino D’Acampo, kicks things off in sizzling style on 23 September, beginning a packed schedule of tastings, cookery demonstrations, special markets, live cook-offs and food-themed events throughout Nottingham.
Local food hero Sat Bains, of Nottingham Michelin-starred Restaurant Sat Bains fame, will be dishing out tips and treats on Thursday, as will Caribbean soul food star Momma Cherri on Friday. Two-Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar, from London’s renowned Indian restaurant Benares, takes a turn on Saturday before Ainsley Harriott brings the festival to a close on Sunday.
While we can’t promise you’ll be giving Gordon Ramsay sleepless nights, you should be able to rustle up something suitably delicious after watching the pros in action.
