Light a lantern in Sherwood, Nottinghamshire
You don’t need to make your hair stand on end to join in the Halloween festivities. Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre in Nottinghamshire will be celebrating the scary affair “creative style” by setting up a lantern-making workshop on 25 October between 10.30am–12.30pm and 1.30–3.30pm. The centre is situated right next to the forest, famous for its association with the legendary Robin Hood – so if you do fancy a bit of a doom and gloom, head down to the woods on your way out. The special woodland lanterns that you make on site are sure to light up your home and help scare away any Halloween spirits. Children must be accompanied by adults and lanterns will be £5. Sheffield’s famous Fright Night
The bigger the better? If that’s the case, then Sheffield City Centre is hosting a massive street party filled with entertainment, music, fun fairs and fancy dress. The town celebrations will take place on the big day itself, 31 October, starting early this year at 3.30pm so that the little ones will be able to join in on all of the fun. London Dungeons
For those that seek true horror, then London Dungeon is the place to be – it’s holding a Jack O’Lantern & the Sounds of Hell special to celebrate the holiday. The London attraction will be bringing some of history’s most terrifying characters back to life between 15-31 October. Imagine walking through the dungeon’s creepy corridors, hearing the hellish screams of the dead and being among some of the world’s most gruesome figures as they roam around on the loose.
