The event starts at 11.15am, when keen competitors can begin limbering up for the race, which starts at 11.30. And if that’s not entertainment enough, there’ll be live entertainment to follow. Contestants will have to run around Covent Garden’s main square in teams of six, negotiating a course of It’s a knockout-style inflatable obstacles, all while balancing a pudding tray.

There’ll be prizes for the most creative costumes, plus the winning team will pick up the sought-after Christmas Pudding Trophy.

You might even spot a few celebrities among the crowd. Last year, Matthew Kelly, Bill Oddie and Bonnie Langford watched the fun unfold together with the cast of Eastenders and Cats.

Organisers Cancer Research Aid Campaign are aiming to beat last year’s fundraising total of £19,000, so join the action and see if you can help. It’s time to get into the Christmas spirit!
